Macromolecules such as the Cas9 protein, siRNa or antisense oligonucleotides are very powerful tools for gene editing or gene silencing, with the potential to reshape BioTech and Medicine. However, currently this potential cannot be materialized, unless novel tools for delivery of these agents across phospholipid biological barriers into cells are developed. We developed an innovative nanoscale molecular motor (MW of 700 Daltons), energized by an internal membrane "battery" that resides deep within any biological membrane. This NanoMotor is capable of moving within the phospholipid membrane milieu, pulling the attached macromolecule across the membrane into the cell. Principles of the design of this novel nano-motor, and it''s biological performance in the transmembrane delivery of highly-charged macromolecules will be presented. This novel technology may break the "Delivery Barrier" that currently holds-back the entire respective field in Biotech and medicine.
